Technical information:

PEPTAN® Hydrolysed Collagen

Collagen is a primary connective tissue and key protein in the body that ensures cohesion, elasticity and regeneration of skin, cartilage and bone.  There are different types of collagen depending on the tissues from which it is derived.

Peptan® is Type 1 collagen peptides, the same collagen as that found in human bones and skin.

Peptan® contains 18 amino-acids.

It is characterised by the predominance of glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, which represents around 50 % of the total amino-acid content. Glycine and proline concentration is 10 to 20 times higher than in other proteins. This very specific composition of amino-acids provides Peptan® with nutri-functional properties that cannot be found with other protein sources.

Collagen Peptides for Joint Health

Extensive research has shown the beneficial effects of collagen peptides in preserving joint health and reducing pain.  The significant joint health benefits of taking Peptan has been demonstrated in a clinical study (Jiang et al. 2014)

Collagen Peptides for Bone Health

With age often accompanies with loss of bone mass. Early diagnosis and treatment have been demonstrated to reduce fracture rates and improve quality of life.

Collagen peptides have been shown to stimulate the production of collagen by bone cells, leading to higher levels of new bone tissue formation. Peptan has in addition been scientifically proven to promote bone mass density and increase bone strength in in-vivo studies. (Guillerminet  et al. 2010, 2012)

Collagen Peptides for Muscle Health

Protein is important for muscle mass, with age comes loss of muscle mass and strength. The consumption of adequate dietary protein is crucial for counteracting the effects of sarcopenia  and can help support muscle regeneration and prevent muscle loss. Collagen peptides are bioactive protein that are easy to digest and absorb ,which makes them suitable for elderly and or sports/fitness people

Reishi

Reishi mushrooms were known to the ancients as the mushroom of immortality, they had a reputation of promoting health and longevity, boosting immune system and reducing the risk of life-shortening conditions such as cancer and cardiovascular conditions.

Reishi mushrooms are so powerful because they contain hundreds of biologically active molecules that work together to offer a multi-targeted approach.

Triterpenes:

Reishi contains constituents – including lanostanic triterpenoids – from the fruit bodies of this remarkable specie have been shown to be anti-inflammatory in the treatment of arthritis.  Concurrent with the well-known anti-inflammatory properties of Reishi is the production of interleukin 2, 6 and interleukin 9 which are typically associated with an inflammatory response in the immune system.  This apparent contradiction – an immune enhancer being an anti-inflammatory may be further explained in that the effects of Reishi can be bi-directional at different dosages.  The end result of many studies is that Reishi is an anti-inflammatory agent and yet an immuno-enhancer.

Triterpenes also protect the liver, lower blood pressure and cholesterol.  Prevent the blood from clumping and leading to heart attacks and stroke. They fight allergic responses triggered by histamine and possess anticancer activity.

Polysaccharides:

Anticancer effects and boosting immune system.

Ganoderma lucidum peptide:

A unique protein that has potent antioxidant characteristics.  They protect cellular DNA, as well as mitochondrial DNA and the mitochondria themselves from oxidative damage.

ADVERSE REACTIONS/ INTERACTIONS:

  • Adverse reactions are extremely rare, but using reishi for three to six months continuous my result in dryness of the mouth, throat and nasal passages; stomach upset; or nosebleed.  These complications appear so seldom that their exact causes are not known.
  • If taking blood-thinning medications such as warfarin, use Reishi only under a doctor’s supervision.
  • Reishi might have hypotensive activity, so avoid using with antihypertensive medication.
